My GOODness, what a whirlwind tour we’ve had so far!
Our October trips were short and sweet – a weekend in Wenatchee, four days in Texas and Louisiana.
But November… well, that’s another story!
After Wendy, Shelbi and Stephanie departed Billings on Halloween, and Dan picked them up in Washington, D.C. that night, we’ve been on the road again, going places that we’ve never been, seeing things that we may never see again… and loving every moment!
In Culpeper, Virginia, we explored the beautiful historical downtown, and took a few hours to hike around the woods and trails of that lovely town.
The concert on November 2nd was WONDERFUL! 950 or so folks were in attendance that night, a classy and welcoming crowd.
The morning of the 3rd we loaded up Dan’s truck and made our way to Harwood, Maryland, about two hours down the road. Our mid-afternoon performance was also well-attended, and Wendy and Stephanie were thrilled to have friends come to the matinee!
After the Harwood performance, 
we once again drove two hours, this time to Hagerstown, Maryland. What a bustling city, with a very different – yet equally historical – downtown.
We were amazed to find out that the bloody battle of Antietam happened just ten miles down the road, and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to visit that hallowed ground. Wendy was a history major in college, so for her 
it was her college education come to life… and the rest of the group was equally interested in spending a couple of hours immersing themselves in America’s past.
The concert in Hagerstown Monday was fabulous – for the third day in a row, the crowd was on its feet with a standing ovation for us by the end of the performance! 
And what an AMAZING venue – the Maryland Theatre is by far the most classical location we’ve played.
The last few days have been driving-adventuring-driving! We skirted the Appalachian mountains all day Tuesday, ending the 12-hour drive with a visit to one of Dan’s incredibly gifted friends, Jackie Miller, and his lovely wife Cindy.
Jackie is one of THE premiere bluegrass fiddlers/mandolin players in Nashville, and is also one of the most highly respected luthiers in the business! He restores fiddles, guitars, mandos, anything with strings… and he took a few hours Tuesday evening to give a fiddle lesson to the girls!
Wednesday was NASHVILLE DAY!! 
Lower Broadway, the Parthenon, J. Alexander’s for lunch and a brisk walk through the Opryland Hotel Atriums! Steph and Shelbi took in the night life, listening to a fabulous band perform at one of the honky-tonks downtown.
Thursday – another 12-hour driving day. And it’s RAINING. But tomorrow we’ll be in sunny Texas, getting ready for our next performances in McKinney and Greenville!
