Our first “road gig” for 2019 is in the books! We had a sold-out, standing-room-only house at the Blue Gate Theatre in Shipshewana, Indiana on August 31st.
Shipshewana is such an interesting place – a largely Amish settlement, the small town has capitalized on the appeal of Amish goods, and draws thousands to the theatres, shops and restaurants.
The town is home to several convention center hotels, and on any given weekend visitors can see the likes of Trace Adkins, the Oak Ridge Boys, Kenny G and Shoji Tabuchi at both the Blue Gate Theatre and the Shipshewana Events Center.
We played the night after Moe Bandy (who we had also been on the Larry’s Country Diner Cruise with last year), and although the owner of the Blue Gate had never heard of us, our fans, family and friends made sure that he will remember us after Saturday’s show!
The support from folks, many of whom had driven HOURS to see us, was overwhelming – what a gift! Thanks, Indiana, for welcoming Dan home!
(Yes, his mother really is from Indiana.)
